Biscayne Park is a village in Miami-Dade County, in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale metro area. The community name derives from Indian term for "favorite path of the rising moon". As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 3,269. There were 1,283 households out of which 31.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.9% were married couples living together, 14.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 35.2% were non-families. 25.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.55 and the average family size was 3.12. |
