The Town of Medley, named for its founder, Sylvester Medley, was incorporated in 1949. Twenty years later, this primarily industrial town had grown to include about 325 light-to-heavy industries, while its population increased to 250 residents. Located less than 5 miles from Miami International Airport, Medley has received recognition as the largest-growing industrial community in the Greater Miami-Dade County area. Today Medley is proud of its over 1500 businesses and approximately 1000 permanent residents. During business hours the working population swells to over 30,000. |
